Whether established to honor or memorialize a loved one, recognize a specific academic institution or to support a particular field of study, Stanislaus Community Foundation Scholarship Funds provide benefits to students that affect their lives and our community today and for future generations.


Online Application

The Community Foundation uses an online application process for those scholarships funds that accept applications through the Foundation office. For most of our scholarships (but not all!), applicants must be residents of Stanislaus County.

Charles Sargent Accounting Scholarship Fund (2017) Open to high school seniors and college students studying accounting. Applicants must be involved in the community and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. $5,000 (one) Apply online
David W. Moore Memorial Scholarship (2018) Open to graduating seniors from Atwater, Golden Valley and Oakdale pursuing a degree in agriculture, ag-related fields or animal science. Students must demonstrate financial need and community involvement. $2,500 (three) Apply online
Diane Bava Amador Scholarship (2005) Sponsored by Ambeck Mortgage Associates, this scholarship is open to current or former Modesto City Schools District students. $1,000 (one) Apply online
Dr. Grant E. & Colleen Bare Scholarship (2012) Open to current Modesto Junior College students planning to transfer to a four-year college and pursue a degree in the fields of sciences, medical sciences and/or mathematics.  Up to $3,000 (two or three) Apply online
Dr. Larry Cooke Memorial Scholarship (2004) Open to students admitted or enrolled at the University of Notre Dame, or another Catholic university, planning to pursue an education in the field of medicine. Must have a B-average or higher. $500 (one) Apply online
Earl Pride Scholarship Fund (2018) Open to Stanislaus County employees working an average of 24 hours per week, and their dependents. Varies Not currently accepting applications
Edward T. Taylor, Jr. Perpetual Memorial Scholarship (2003) In honor of the Modesto High School Class of 1938, this scholarship is open to current or former students of Modesto High School with a B-average or higher. $500 (one) Apply online
Elizabeth Jane Smyth Memorial Scholarship Fund (2018) Open to Beyer High graduates pursuing a degree in STEM fields. Preferences given to females with a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Student must demonstrate financial need and strong community involvement. $2,000 (one) Apply online
Evelyn A. Hanshaw Scholarship Fund (2007) Open to graduating high school seniors who attended Evelyn Hanshaw Middle School. $350-$1,000 (multiple) Apply online
First Tee of Central Valley (2006) Open to current/active members of The First Tee program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  $2,000 (two or three) Apply online
Gemperle Family Farms (2016) Open to current Gemperle Family Farms employees and their dependents. Employees must have three-plus years of continuous employment. $1,000 (multiple) Apply online
Health Careers Scholarship (2017) Open to graduating high school seniors planning to attend CSU-Stanislaus and pursue a career in a health-related field. Scholarship is specific to first-generation students demonstrating need. $2,000 (multiple) Apply online
The James McClatchy Bee Scholarship (2013) Open to past or current employees of the Modesto Bee or their children or grandchildren (must have been an employee for at least 5 years). Up to $3,500 (varies) Apply online
Jane Wynne Woolley Scholarship (2013) Open to English Language Learners demonstrating financial need and graduating from the following high schools: Central Valley, Ceres, Johansen, Oakdale, Patterson, Riverbank, Turlock and Waterford. $1,500 (two to four) Apply online
Jim & Betty Lilly Scholarship Fund (2017) Open to students who have attended a continuation high school, including those who have returned to and graduated from typical high schools. $1,000 (one) Apply online
Judy Wiegman Scholarship (2005) Open to students with a physical disability planning to attend a two or four-year college. Student must have a 2.8 GPA, or higher, and enroll in at least 10 units. $2,000 (up to two) Apply online
Martella Family Scholarship (2016) Open to children and grandchildren of current Martella Family Farms employees with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Employee must have three-plus years of employment. $500-$1,000 (multiple) Apply online
Melinda Nielsen Family Scholarship (2013) Open to current seniors or graduates of Gregori High School with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Student must demonstrate need. Scholarship is renewable. $2,500 (one) Apply online
Pat Maciel Lubeck Perpetual Memorial Scholarship (2005) Sponsored by Ambeck Mortgage, this scholarship is open to current or former female Modesto High School students pursuing a degree in business or computer science. Must demonstrate financial need. $1,000 (one) Apply online
Richard & Dolla Squires Memorial Music Scholarship (2018) Open to graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in music and demonstrating financial need. Preference given to students with a strong background in music. $1,000 (one) Apply online
Ryan Dickerson Academic Scholarship (2007) Open to Modesto High School students who embody the heart and spirit of Ryan Dickerson. Preferences given to International Baccalaureate students. $1,000 (one) Apply online
Stanislaus County Medical School Scholarship (2018) Open to current college students or college graduates planning to attend medical school in the 2019-2020 academic year. Preferences given to students demonstrating financial need. Applicants must be natives of Stanislaus County. Scholarship is renewable. $10,000 (one) Apply online
Stanislaus Futures Scholarship (2016) Open to graduating seniors from Central Valley, Ceres, Johansen, Oakdale, Patterson, Riverbank, Turlock and Waterford. Must be first-generation student and demonstrate financial need. Stanislaus Futures is generously supported, in part, by an anonymous fundholder, The Arthur T. and Corinne K. Shields Fund and The Zwahlen Family Fund. Scholarships are renewable. $1,000-$2,200 (multiple) Apply online
Trinitas Farming Community Scholarship (2016) Established to help fund higher education for farmers and agriculture workers within Stanislaus County, as well as their children and grandchildren. $1,000 (one) Apply online
Virginia Azevedo Memorial Scholarship (2005) Sponsored by Ambeck Mortgage Associates, this scholarship is open to current or former female students of Modesto High School who are pursuing an education in the field of medicine and demonstrates a financial need. $1,000 (one) Apply online
2003 Beyer High School Athletic Scholarship (2003) Open to Beyer High School seniors involved in varsity athletics during junior and senior years. See additional requirements at Beyer High School College Counseling Office. $500 (one) Apply through the high school's general application process.
Chiton Society Scholarship (2006) Open to graduating female seniors of Grace M. Davis High School, enrolled in an accredited higher education institution and entering the "helping" profession (i.e. nursing, medicine, teaching, social services, etc.). $1,000 (one) Please contact Davis High School directly.
Don Hendricks Memorial FFA Scholarship (2011) Open to graduating Oakdale High School FFA members who plan to pursue an education in the field of agriculture. $500 (one) Apply through the high school's general application process.
The Sammy Jenkins Math Scholarship (2009) Open to Davis High School graduating seniors who demonstrate an outstanding ability in mathematics. $1,500 (one) Apply through the high school's general application process.
