Whether established to honor or memorialize a loved one, recognize a specific academic institution or to support a particular field of study, Stanislaus Community Foundation Scholarship Funds provide benefits to students that affect their lives and our community today and for future generations.


Online Application

The Community Foundation uses an online application process for those scholarships funds that accept applications through the Foundation office. For most of our scholarships (but not all!), applicants must be residents of Stanislaus County.

Bob Boggeri Farms Fund (2019) Open to students planning to pursue a degree in Ag or Horticulture. Must be a FFA member and demonstrate financial need. Preference given to students from Hughson. $1,000 Apply online
David W. Moore Memorial Scholarship (2018) Open to graduating seniors from Atwater, Golden Valley and Oakdale pursuing a degree in agriculture, ag-related fields or animal science. Students must demonstrate financial need and community involvement. $2,500 Apply online
Diane Bava Amador Scholarship (2005) Sponsored by Ambeck Mortgage Associates, this scholarship is open to current or former Modesto City Schools District students. $1,000 Apply online
Dr. Grant E. & Colleen Bare Scholarship (2012) Open to current Modesto Junior College students planning to transfer to a four-year college and pursue a degree in the fields of science, medical sciences and/or mathematics.  Up to $3,000 Apply online
Dr. Larry Cooke Memorial Scholarship (2004) Open to students enrolled at the University of Notre Dame, or another Catholic university, planning to pursue a degree in the field of medicine. Must have a B-average or higher. $500 Apply online
Edward T. Taylor, Jr. Perpetual Memorial Scholarship (2003) In honor of the Modesto High School Class of 1938, this scholarship is open to current or former students of Modesto High School with a B-average or higher. $500 Apply online
Elizabeth Jane Smyth Memorial Scholarship Fund (2018) Open to Beyer High graduates pursuing a degree in STEM fields. Preferences given to females with a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Student must demonstrate financial need and strong community involvement. $2,000 Apply online
Evelyn A. Hanshaw Scholarship Fund (2007) Open to graduating high school seniors who attended Evelyn Hanshaw Middle School. $350-$1,000 Apply online
First Tee of Central Valley (2006) Open to current/active members of The First Tee program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  $2,000 Apply online
Gemperle Family Farms (2016) Open to children and grandchildren of Gemperle Family Farms employees. Employees must have three-plus years of continuous employment. $1,000 Apply online
Health Careers Scholarship (2017) Open to graduating high school seniors planning to attend CSU-Stanislaus and pursue a career in a health-related field. Scholarship is specific to first-generation students demonstrating need. $2,000 Renewable up to 4 years Apply online
The James McClatchy Bee Scholarship (2013) Open to past or current employees of the Modesto Bee or their children or grandchildren (must have been an employee for at least 5 years). Up to $3,500 Apply online
Jane Wynne Woolley Scholarship (2013) Open to English Language Learners demonstrating financial need and graduating from the following high schools: Central Valley, Ceres, Johansen, Oakdale, Patterson, Riverbank, Turlock and Waterford. $1,500 Apply online
Jim & Betty Lilly Scholarship Fund (2017) Open to students who have attended a continuation high school, including those who have returned to and graduated from typical high schools. $1,000 Apply online
Judy Wiegman Scholarship (2005) Open to students with a physical disability planning to attend a two or four-year college. Student must have a 2.8 GPA or higher, and enroll in at least 10 units. $2,000 Apply online
Martella Family Scholarship (2016) Open to children and grandchildren of current Martella Family Farms employees with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Employee must have three-plus years of employment. $500-$1,000 Apply online
Melinda Nielsen Family Scholarship (2013) Open to current seniors or graduates of Gregori High School with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Student must demonstrate need. $2,500 Renewable up to 4 years Apply online
Pat Maciel Lubeck Perpetual Memorial Scholarship (2005) Sponsored by Ambeck Mortgage, this scholarship is open to current or former female Modesto High School students pursuing a degree in business or computer science. Must demonstrate financial need. $1,000 Apply online
Richard & Dolla Squires Memorial Music Scholarship (2018) Open to graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in music and demonstrating financial need. Preference given to students with a strong background in music. $1,000 Apply online
Ryan Dickerson Academic Scholarship (2007) Open to Modesto High School students who embody the heart and spirit of Ryan Dickerson. Preference given to International Baccalaureate students. $1,000 Apply online
Stanislaus Futures Scholarship (2016) Open to graduating seniors from Central Valley, Ceres, Johansen, Oakdale, Patterson, Riverbank, Turlock and Waterford. Preference for first-generation students. Must demonstrate financial need. $1,000-$2,200 Stanislaus Futures is generously supported, in part, by an anonymous fundholder, The Arthur T. and Corinne K. Shields Fund and The Zwahlen Family Fund. Scholarships are renewable up to 2 years. Apply online
The Rose Family Scholarship (2019) Open to students planning to pursue a degree in math or science. Must demonstrate financial need. $2,000-$3,000 Apply online
Trinitas Farming Community Scholarship (2016) Established to help fund higher education for farmers and agriculture workers within Stanislaus County, as well as their children and grandchildren. $1,000 Apply online
Virginia Azevedo Memorial Scholarship (2005) Sponsored by Ambeck Mortgage Associates, this scholarship is open to current or former female students of Modesto High School who are pursuing an education in the field of medicine and that demonstrate a financial need. $1,000 Apply online
Chiton Society Scholarship (2006) Open to graduating female seniors of Grace M. Davis High School, enrolled in an accredited higher education institution and entering the "helping" profession (i.e. nursing, medicine, teaching, social services, etc.). $1,000 Please contact Davis High School directly.
Don Hendricks Memorial FFA Scholarship (2011) Open to graduating Oakdale High School FFA members who plan to pursue a degree in the field of agriculture. $500 Apply through the high school's general application process.
The Sammy Jenkins Math Scholarship (2009) Open to Davis High School graduating seniors who demonstrate an outstanding ability in mathematics. $1,500 Apply through the high school's general application process.
