Join us and root for your favorite Social Enterprise Pitch!
June 29. 12:00 pm
With support from the Porges Family Foundation, Stanislaus Community Foundation launched Profit with Purpose, Stanislaus County’s first training program to build and launch social enterprises in early 2021.
A social enterprise is a cause-driven business whose primary reason for being is to improve social objectives and serve the common good. Social enterprise exists to achieve a social mission—such as creating jobs for hard to employ populations, introducing renewable energy or advancing education initiatives.
Eleven local nonprofits participated in the Profit with Purpose Program, completing a ten-week curriculum taught by San Diego-based consultancy Mission Edge designed to help them launch new business ideas to earn revenue and sustain their mission over time.
Three participating nonprofits will be selected by Mission Edge to pitch their business ideas at a virtual pitch competition on June 29. Local judges will evaluate the pitches and the nonprofits will qualify for cash prizes of $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000.
