Joshua Navarro

At just 15 years old, Joshua Navarro entered the field of youth development. What began as a simple role as a high school aide soon became a lifelong calling. Through persistence and discipline, he rose to oversee ASES and ELOP programs across the Bay Area – from San Francisco to Milpitas – as a Regional Director. By the age of 24, Joshua had served as a program leader, site coordinator, manager, and district-level administrator, including time as a Program Manager in New Haven Unified School District before returning home to Stanislaus County. Today, he leads an ASES Program for Patterson Unified School District while also serving on the City of Modesto Blight Abatement Committee and as District Ambassador for Patterson Unified’s Green Initiative – roles that reflect his commitment to strengthening both community and environment.

A proud son of Stanislaus County and graduate of Patterson High School, Joshua comes from a Chicano household with roots in Texas and Mexico. Though he did not pursue the traditional path of higher education, he built his life on the enduring principles of labor, sacrifice, and perseverance. He has devoted himself to guiding students often seen as “difficult,” helping them discover their worth and proving that their potential is greater than their doubts. Many of these young people now stand as business owners and tradesmen, shaping futures of their own.

As a NextGen on Board Fellow, Joshua is serving a two-year term on NPO Board of Directors beginning October 2025.
