Agency Funds

The Foundation manages these funds on behalf of local nonprofit organizations.

Designated Funds

Grants are made from these funds to specific organizations of the donors’ preference.

  • Modesto Bee Economic Mobility Lab

    The Modesto Bee Economic Mobility Fund was created in partnership with The McClatchy Journalism Institute (MJI) is a non-profit, independent entity with a simple goal: To help news organizations serve their fundamental role of informing citizens about their communities. This program is designed to increase newsroom capacity, support collaboration, and engage community in the journalism that strengthens our democracy.

    Contributions to The Modesto Bee Economic Mobility Fund will be tax deductible as provided by law, and meet the exempt purposes set forth in the Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3).

  • A Book Of Dreams

    A charitable partnership between The Modesto Bee and Stanislaus Community Foundation.

  • Brian LoConte Agricultural Endowment

    Established as an endowment to the Stanislaus County Agricultural Center Foundation.

  • Donovan & Alberta Bodes Fund

    To support the Virginia Corridor improvement fund and other general charitable donations.

  • Camp Jack Hazard – “Bart Bennett” Fund

    To provide scholarship awards for those attending Camp Jack Hazard.

  • Camp Jack Hazard – “Robert Babington” Fund

    To provide scholarship awards for needy individuals residing in Stanislaus County and attending Camp Jack Hazard. If the income exceeds requests for camperships, the Camp Committee may designate funds for equipment or other capital expenditures for the Camp but not in excess of the income available in any given year.

  • Friends of the Empire Community Pool Fund

    To build and maintain a community swimming pool or other recreational facilities in the Empire, California, area.

  • Lloyd S. & Virginia M. Parks Memorial Fund

    The net income from the bequest shall be distributed in equal proportions to the following organizations, annually or at more frequent intervals, each for their general charitable, religious, or educational purposes. A. Memorial Hospital Foundation, Modesto, California, to benefit children B. Ceres Unified School District, to benefit the Ceres High School Scholarship Trust Fund C. Modesto Gospel Mission, Modesto, California D. The Salvation Army, Modesto, California, to benefit the Ceres Unit E. The United Methodist Church of Ceres, California, (amended to the Hughson United Methodist Church) F. Ceres Unified School District for the Virginia M. Parks School, Ceres, CA, for educational field trips

  • National Ag Science Center Fund (Endowment)

    The National Ag Science Center provides students with unique programs in agriculture and science – promoting positive educational experiences and an awareness of career connections and issues important to sustainable agriculture in California.

  • Nick Chipponeri Family Fund

  • St. Stanislaus School Scholarship Fund

    Established to provide scholarships for students attending St. Stanislaus School.

  • Youngheim Family Fund

Donor Advised Funds

Grants are made from these funds based on the advice and preferences of the donor.

Field of Interest Funds

Grants are made from these funds based on needs in specific issue areas.

Fiscal Sponsorships

The Foundation assumes responsibility for these funds of ad hoc groups or other entities without 501(c)(3) status.

Scholarship Funds

Grants are made from these funds based on the criteria of individual scholarships, as established by the donor.

Unrestricted Funds

This Community Foundation unrestricted fund is used to address urgent community needs and emerging opportunities. The Foundation staff and board will apply their expertise in the distribution of these funds.
