George Rogers loved and supported the Airport Neighborhood as a teacher at Orville Wright Elementary School for 30 years. In recognition of his dedication to the community he served, the City of Modesto named a park in his memory next to the school he held so dear. Since 2003, The George Rogers Neighborhood Park Fund, housed with Stanislaus Community Foundation, has been raising funds to maintain the park, support the Orville Wright Little League and offering scholarships to area students. This year, George’s friends and family have launched the “Think of Me” campaign to raise $2,500 by April 1. To kick off the drive, George’s son, David, was gracious enough to answer some questions about the fund, and, of course, his favorite karaoke jams. Read more here.
